I’ve been waiting to meet this sweet new family of three ever since I took this couple’s maternity photos earlier this spring. Photographing a family with a new baby is always such a treat- I love a good baby fix! I remember the early days of a newborn well, and while it certainly brings its challenges, it’s a fleeting and special time. It’s certainly a time worth documenting! I’ve been photographing new families in their homes for the last few years, and I love the relaxed atmosphere this session style allows for. The pace is slow, and there is plenty of time to tend to baby, and for me to chat with the new parents! I love hearing about their early days as a family as it always brings back memories for me. Somehow my own girls are seven and eight, but it feels like we were just in this stage ourselves. It’s so true what everyone told me…the days can be long but the years are always short. I absolutely loved the newborn stage, which makes these sessions extra special to me.
This new family just moved into their new home a few weeks before their baby boy was born. That’s a whole lot of change in a short period of time and these amazing parents were handling it with grace. We had a great time photographing babe in both their gorgeous master bedroom as well as outside their home. In between feeding and diaper changes, he was happy to be held by mom and dad, which always makes for great newborn photos. We were even lucky enough to have Grandma join us for a few photos. I love the images we captured together, and I am sure they will be treasured for years to come. I hope you enjoy a peek at this beautiful lifestyle newborn session!
