Six Years of Family Photos | Client Interview Series {Vermont Family Photographer}

Client Interview Series

Have you wondered what’s it like working with Kristy Dooley Photography? I’m excited to share the second family featured in my Client Interview Series. This family was one of the very first families I photographed when I launched my business back in 2013. I’ve photographed them every year since with both extended family sessions and regular family sessions. The biggest compliment I can receive in my business is for clients to come back for more photos, and I always love photographing this family. Documenting families as they grow is such a treat for me- I love capturing changing personalities and the special details of relationships that change over time. They have another extended family session scheduled for next month, and I can’t wait to see how much these kids have grown!

What is your favorite part of working with Kristy Dooley Photography?

I love the way that Kristy interacts with our three children to make it a relaxed and fun experience. She is great with all ages and has a fantastic way of engaging the kids, whether it be through games or silly stories. Kristy’s style makes the entire shoot relaxed and natural, which the photos show. Kristy has worked with us in many different scenarios — searing heat and freezing cold, with a less than one week old (!) to an extended family shoot — and throughout all of these different shoots, she has been able to make every experience fun and produced beautiful images.

What made you choose Kristy Dooley Photography to photograph your family?

I originally saw Kristy’s work on a friend’s Facebook page, and I loved the extraordinary beautiful but natural family photos she was able to capture for them. I absolutely love her focus on outdoor shoots.

Did you have any apprehensions going into the session? How did you feel about these once the session was done?

Our first session was on an exceptionally cold December day with a two-year-old and an infant. I was worried about the cold and how our kids would react. Kristy really understands how to work with kids of all ages, and she was very focused on our comfort and on making the session fun despite the conditions. That was our first photo session with Kristy, and I think we have done four or five since, owing to how easy she made that session and the fact that those images of our family turned out beautifully despite how cold it was.

Who would you recommend Kristy Dooley Photography to for Family Photos?

I would (and have) recommended Kristy Dooley Photography to other families, particularly with young children, who are interested in capturing their family in a very natural and relaxed setting, particularly those who want an outdoor setting. Kristy has always been exceedingly flexible with us in order to accommodate our schedules and ensure the best conditions, despite the impact to her own schedule. We love Kristy!

Thank you!

A big thanks to this family for their participation in this series and their ongoing trust in me to capture their memories. I can’t wait to see them in August~
